Big Brothers Big Sisters Spends a Day at Wilkes University

WILKES-BARRE–On Monday, July 11, 2005, Wilkes University sponsored a “Match for a Day” event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge. A group of incoming freshmen students met with children from Big Brothers Big Sisters and played team building games on campus.  As part of their orientation, incoming freshmen are required to participate in a service project to introduce them to the community that will be their home for the next four years.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge is a mentoring program, which matches children aged 7 to 14, with adults to provide a positive role model and one-on-one relationship. Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge serves five counties: Carbon, Columbia, Luzerne, Monroe, and Wyoming and is a United Way member agency.  For more information about the program, please contact us via telephone at (570) 824-8756, toll free at 1-800-955-5437, or visit our website at www.bbbswb.org.
