Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge began in Luzerne County in 1974. Since that time services have been offered in Wyoming, Columbia, Monroe, and Carbon Counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In 2003 over 900 children were matched in a variety of services. Since its inception in 1974, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge has strived to provide high quality mentoring services to the children and families of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters programs is provided through the various United Ways, state or federal grants, private donations and fund-raising efforts and program development.
